Corporate Social Responsibility Program: AVIC Africa-Tech Challenge (ATC)

With AVIC International, 2014
  • In 2014, China House designed the "Africa Tech Challenge", a groundbreaking corporate social responsibility project focused on the vocational training of young Kenyan technicians, designed for the Chinese enterprise AVIC International.
  • In partnership with the Technical University of Kenya, AVIC International’s ATC competition invites students from technical institutions to compete in a challenge to produce parts of selected machinery. The most outstanding participants receive cash prizes and fully sponsored master’s degree scholarships to prestigious universities in China., and winning teams receive commercial contracts.
  • As one of the first Chinese SOE-led comprehensive and mid-long term CSR projects in Africa, ATC continues to take place annually until now.

From 2014, we produced industry-related business consulting reports and issue-related guideline documents (such as Kenya labor law guide, tax law guide) for Chinese companies in Africa. We also worked with ministries, law firms, accounting firms and so on to provide training for Chinese companies.
